Please validate whats difference between putty and win32-openssh ssh.exe.I made a mistake.Im trying to get X forwarding working (long story) with the same setup described here, but it keeps failing with sshaskpass: posixspawn: No such file or directory.
Stderr Ssh Askpass Exec/Usr/Bin/Ssh-Askpass No Such File Or Directory Code Should NeverIt can be an environment variable, but why should I have to set it and what to Clearly the code should never try to call something that doesnt exist, or its looking for it in the wrong place. Stderr Ssh Askpass Exec/Usr/Bin/Ssh-Askpass No Such File Or Directory Password The NormalIts strange, because when my DISPLAY environment variable isnt set ssh asks for my password the normal way, and its fine. Why shouldnt it always get my password that way This remains a bug. With Xming I also seem to need set DISPLAYlocalhost:0 and to use ssh -Y. There (in 966 ) the issue is resolved: was a bug, now corrected in sources. Creating linux folders in Windows is not a real solution but only a workaround.
